On Thursday, July 25th, Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick visited Boston’s North Bennet Street School, currently undergoing a massive relocation/renovation led by Everett, MA-based BOND Construction.
Once completed, the project will improve more than 60,000 square feet of existing space, including interior renovations and base building systems replacement. A limited exterior restoration will be carried out in accordance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Historic Rehabilitation. The finished facility will include classroom space, craft and carpentry workshops, administrative offices and ground floor public and gallery spaces.
“This is a really exciting project. It’s a community institution, which you probably know better than I do. After a lot of years of being in multiple locations, to be under one roof, and all the creative interaction that comes from that, I think it’s a really terrific thing,” said Governor Patrick.
Updates on the progress of the project will be documented on the North Bennet St. School blog: http://nbssboston.
