Cornell University A Cappella Group to Entertain at
Columbus Day Celebration in the Park

Free Family Fun Day in the Park!

The high-energy, award-winning, all-male a cappella group, Last Call, will be the closing act at the Columbus Day Celebration on Monday, October 8, 2012.  After a day of games and entertainment that begins at 10:45 a.m., the Friends of Christopher Columbus Park (FOCCP) is pleased to announce that Cornell University’s Last Call will perform and end the celebration with a memorable show.

The nineteen-member group will travel from Ithaca, N.Y., to Boston for its Fall Tour, performing at universities and colleges and in Christopher Columbus Park.  Milton-native, Cornell Junior Marty Morris explains, “We perform a large variety of songs, from more classic a cappella to modern pieces.”

“Our Columbus Day celebration has been an annual event since 2009,” says FOCCP President Joanne Hayes-Rines. “We’re delighted that the Last Call has added Columbus Park to its Fall Tour.  It will be a great time for North End and Waterfront families and those who visit the Park on Columbus Day.”

Entertainment, including a marionette show, magician, juggler, storyteller, games, will begin with a parade and ceremony at the statue.  The event is free to all thanks to the generous support of Boston PushCart, CL Waterfront Properties LLC and Tia’s Restaurant. The North End Music and Performing Arts Center will participate with musicians, singers, and fun art projects.
