Things To Do This Weekend in the North End / Waterfront (April 27-29, 2012)

If you are reading this on Friday, April 27, 2012 then you still have time to catch NEMPAC’s jazz concert at the Old North Church. It is at 7 pm, open to the public and free with a suggested $15 donation to benefit music scholarship programs.

Or maybe you have tickets to the St. John School Spring Soiree at Battery Wharf …

On Saturday, April 28, 2012, get out early and help clean up the streets and parks at the annual Boston Shines. Meet at 9 am at the Prado (Paul Revere Mall) … maybe Councilor LaMattina will supply coffee and donuts again (hint) …

Go back to your medicine cabinet and bring your unused and expired medications to the North End Waterfront Health, 332 Hanover St. from 10am-2pm.

Come watch the NEAA Opening Day ceremonies honoring Bobby Simboli, 12:30 pm at Campochiaro Field at Langone Park. Following the speeches will be an exciting NEAA Majors baseball double header. A BBQ will be held from 12pm to 4pm.

It’s time to party … disco style at the ROC Teen Saturday Spring Disco Party, 7:30 pm to midnight at the Fisherman’s Club on Fulton Street …

On Sunday, April 29th, from 12pm to 4pm, it is a once in 150 years event, in celebration of Cyrus Dallin, his Paul Revere Statue and the cherished park we know as the Prado. It’s free and open to the public with several historical presentations and a community fair.

Listen to the Choir Concert at Sacred Heart Church. At 2:30 pm, the St. Leonard Parish Choir presents Missa <<Te Deum laudamus >> Ad Duas Voces with the Our Lady of Czestochowa Church Choir.

  1. Hi Joanna – Thanks for the feedback. Now that I know folks like this type of thing, I will try to do it more often. I try to get stuff out as quickly as possible and I knew this would be late for the e-newsletter, but wanted to include Friday's activities for those that check the website or use Twitter/Facebook. I would love to get someone to post this on a weekly basis. It's just a summary of the community calendar. Anyone interested can email me at info@northendwaterfront.com? Please remember that everything on NorthEndWaterfront.com is done on an unpaid, part-time, volunteer basis. I have a day job and there is no staff! Thanks again for writing.
