Nearly a year after first presenting to the NEWNC and NEWRA neighborhood groups, Volle Nolle was awarded a beer and wine license by the Licensing Board for its sandwich shop at 351 Hanover Street. Much of the delay was due to the lack of alcohol license availability under a State cap. Persistence by Torri Crowell and the owners at the shop paid off once more licenses became available. So far, they have introduced beer and plan to add wine soon. The license includes a closing hour of 11:00 pm, 7 days/week, although Volle Nolle is still primarily a lunch destination. The staff said they would experiment with longer hours, perhaps including dinner, in the coming months.
