On Saturday, December 3, 12:30 p.m., the USS Constitution Museum is offering a customized tour to the North End Historical Society of their core exhibit about the famous ship built and launched in the North End in October of 1797. North Enders who helped build Constitution, or served aboard her, will be highlighted on the tour. The wooden ship, nicknamed “Old Ironsides” in the War of 1812, is undefeated in battle, and is America’s oldest commissioned naval vessel. Participants on this tour have the option of visiting the ship itself afterwards.
Tickets are $10 each; NEHS Members are $5. Tickets (and memberships) can be purchased at www.NorthEndBoston.org or via check to the North End Historical Society, P.O. Box 130152, Boston, MA 02113.
