If you like Jewish music, you will love this video from the 2011 Historic Unity Celebration, sponsored by the Saint Joseph Society. The performance was held on July 27, 2011 at the Prado / Paul Revere Mall. As part of the celebration, Richard Egbert was honored for his contributions to the Jewish community in the North End. One of the newer traditions held during Saint Joseph’s procession is for Jews to carry the statue to the location of the former temple.

Passing down the the tradition, the Saint Agrippina Society organizes a “Children’s Procession” with neighborhood kids carrying a little saint statue complete with flowing ribbons. The 109th Fisherman’s Feast kicked off this weekend continuing the tradition of the North End’s oldest running Italian festival.
