Flying is bigger than ever in Boston! More people flew in and out of Logan Airport in June 2011 than any other month on record.
If you’ve been watching (or hearing) the plane traffic at Logan Airport, you might not be surprised to learn that the international airport is seeing a record number of passengers. And, if you’ve been flying yourself, you have probably noticed the planes are packed full. Logan Airport released the following figures.
- June 2011 recorded a total passenger number of 2,694,633 surpassing the old record of 2,588,310 set in 2007, the same year the all time yearly passenger record of 28.1 million was established.
- June 2011 was the 24th consecutive month that passenger numbers increased at Logan.
- June 2011 passenger numbers increased 9.6% compared to the June 2010 numbers of 2,459,201.
- Year to date passenger numbers rose 7.7% from 12,870,688 in 2010 to 13,864,961 in 2011.
