Snow Emergency Update

newnc_logoThe City of Boston has declared a Snow Emergency & Parking Ban effective 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 1, 2011. In the North End / Waterfront, snow emergency streets are primarily Hanover Street, N. Washington St. and Commercial St.

Update: All Boston Public Schools (BPS) will be closed Wednesday, February 2, 2011 due to inclement weather.  This accounts for the fifth snow day for BPS this school year. The snow emergency (parking ban) remains in effect.

All Boston Centers for Youth and Families (BCYF) community centers will be open Wednesday (9 a.m. to 6 p.m.) to assist parents (of children 6-years-old and up) who need child care.

As recently noted in the Forum, scheduled trash pickups are not necessarily impacted by Snow Emergencies. More information is available at “Know Snow” or call the City’s hotline at 617-635-4500. Back by popular demand is the Twitter feed for #bostonsnow.
