The Internet continues to find the North End with the latest coming from Nabewise, a site that helps people who are moving find the best neighborhood for them. The term “nabe” is apparently the other side of “hood.” Get it? (Ed: Me neither.) Still, they are rolling out more “nabes” in Boston as well as other cities such as New York City, San Francisco and Chicago.
The site counts on locals to do reviews and share information about themselves, the schools and Nabespots (Ed: still don’t get it). Users can share their passions for their neighborhood and to allow the “true story” to come out. The idea is that the more reviews each neighborhood has, the more helpful NabeWise will be in making the neighborhoods look correct to newcomers.
There currently are only a few user reviews on the North End neighborhood page and you can see all those here: http://nabewise.com/boston/north-end.
Nabe is short for neighborhood

I'm guessing "nabe" is like "NEIGHB-orhood" I think?? Looks cool- like a Yelp for neighborhoods? I probably could have used this when I moved a couple years ago…
