It all started in a North End kitchen for resident Tania Green, founder of the Boston-based startup, PMS Bites. Now, Tania’s business will garner national attention on ABC TV’s Shark Tank airing Friday, May 20th at 9:00 p.m.

PMS Bites delivers healthy snacks that satisfy PMS cravings to women’s doors the week they need them most. With Green being from North End, the bites also available retail at Boston Common Coffee on Salem Street.

“PMS is a real problem and it bites; it affects 90 percent of women for 7 10 days out of the month. This significant painpoint is rarely addressed in products and in the media,” said Green. “Shark Tank is a cultural phenomenon that millions of American tune into every week. This is an amazing opportunity to bring PMS Bites into millions of households, help women satisfy cravings and take back their 122 days a year!”

All bites contain gluten free, all natural, and vegan ingredients along with a blend of Siberian ginseng, chamomile, and dandelion root, commonly taken herbs for bloating, cramping, and irritability. At 70 calories a pop, you can experience comfort without guilt.

Tania’s promotional video below launched the company on Kickstarter and explains how she came up with the idea. “When I PMS, I bloat, I cramp, I’m angry, I break up with boyfriends, and I will eat anything in sight. It’s debilitating!” the company’s CEO and founder screams in the video, throwing back her arms. “The fact of the matter is, you are not you when you PMS.”

The Kickstarter campaign raised $8,500, well over the $5,000 goal. PMS Bites was also a 2015 finalist in the MassChallenge startup accelerator competition. After making over 8,000 bites herself, the entrepreneur is now using the Boston Baking facility to meet the growing demand.

Last September, she was taped pitching her business plan on the ABC TV reality show, Shark Tank. Until the episode premieres on TV this May, the results are confidential. Viewers can tune in to watch PMS Bites on the season finale Friday, May 20, 2016 at 9/8c on ABC.
