The following announcement comes from the Rose F. Kennedy Greenway Conservancy regarding a March 12th community meeting on the North End Parks.
Come to the North End Parks Community Meeting
The Greenway Conservancy staff along with Greenway Board Members John Pregmon and Robyn Reed invite you to discuss planning for horticulture and infrastructure in the two North End parks.
DATE: Wednesday March 12, 2014
TIME: 6:30 -8:00 pm
LOCATION: Mariner’s House, 11 North Square, Boston MA 02113
To complement our professional Horticulture and Design staff, we have engaged renowned landscape designer Lynden B. Miller who has been a champion of vibrant public horticulture throughout the country. Her wealth of design and plant knowledge, understanding how to maintain highly used urban parks and ability to engage people in the art of garden design have informed the analysis we’ve undertaken this winter. Lynden will review the horticultural opportunities and challenges and help present ideas for bringing more beauty to the two North End Parks.
About The Rose Kennedy Greenway and Conservancy
The Rose Kennedy Greenway is a mile-and-a-half of contemporary parks in the heart of Boston. It is a roof garden atop a highway tunnel that connects people and the city with beauty and fun. The non-profit Conservancy maintains, programs, and improves the Greenway on behalf of the public and in partnership with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
GreatNonProfits.org included the Conservancy in its 2012 and 2013 lists of Top Rated organizations, based on public reviews. Boston Mayor Thomas Menino awarded the Conservancy a 2013 Greenovate Award for its sustainability practices. BostInno named the Greenway as one of the 2013 “50 on Fire” for Arts & Entertainment.
