Our election day is fast approaching. Each big election, The Nazzaro Center has a bake sale for a good cause. This year, the money will be going to The Red Sox Foundation. Overall, The Red Sox Foundation’s primary focus is in serving the health, education, recreation, and social service needs of children and families in need across New England. One of the charities The Red Sox Foundation supports is The Jimmy Fund (official foundation of The Boston Red Sox). Since The Jimmy Fund is our dear late friend, Rosanne Ameno’s favorite charity, I chose to run the Boston Marathon in her honor via The Red Sox Foundation Marathon Team. Thank you Nazzaro Center for supporting these efforts!Please support our efforts to raise money. How? On Tuesday November 6 you can participate in the following ways:
1. Please bring your baked goods to the Nazzaro Center for us to sell. Please have them wrapped individually for sale. We are happy to price them for you at our table.
2. Bring money to buy baked goods and coffee from us at the Nazzaro Center on Election Day. What more can you ask for while waiting in line to vote than coffee and North End pastries??
3. Participate in the 50/50 raffle. Winner will be drawn that evening immediately following the election, and the winner will be notified that night!
4. Donate any spare change you may have around the house to the cause- you can drop it off to me right at the fundraising table!
5. If you own or work for a bakery, any coffee/baked goods donations would be welcome! Please contact me to arrange. If you’d like to help me any time that day with this event, please email me also off-list to arrange.
I will be there all day for the fundraiser, some very generous parents and friends will be helping me with their time as well (thank you!), and the Nazzaro Kids will be helping me after school. Even if you vote at another location, please come by to pick up some baked goods and participate in the raffle at least. If you cannot make it, and would like a raffle ticket or opportunity to donate your spare change to us, please let me know so I can get as many as you’d like for you.
