With much excitement and gratitude, we are proud to announce the opening of the new official North End Dog Park. RUFF will be hosting a opening celebration on December 16th at 10 a.m.! The park will be fully operational for the winter months. [We will host a GRAND opening this Spring when we can show off the water features and bask in the warm sunshine.]

We hope you all have been following along with our progress on Facebook, Each day has brought new challenges and successes. The concrete is now a lush green grass just waiting for paws to prance on! Jumps, tunnels, decking, misting hydrants and more have been installed and will prove to provide endless entertainment for our four-legged members and their owners. Lighting has been improved so that even when it is dark at 4pm, play time will go on! In the Spring, the water features will be online. The list goes on. It has been a long road and we have worked so hard to bring the North End a top-of-the line community dog park. We have finally reached the finish line.

Please join us on December 16th at 10am! Coffee and treats for both humans and dogs will be provided. In addition to the swag for dogs we have created a RUFF North End t-shirt for the two-legged fans to purchase! Exploration and open play is highly encouraged.

As a reminder, this event will have a HIGH number of dogs and lots of extra excitement and stimulation. We encourage owners to use their best judgement with dogs inside the event. This is an OFF leash park but with highly attended events and treats, leashes are always encouraged for safety. Know your dog, read the signs, and be a responsible owner.

SO many to thank, but most of all… all of you!! We can not wait to swing open the gates and welcome everyone on December 16th! We can’t wait to see you all!

  1. Always a negative reply….why? The park is great for dogs and dog owners.
Did you frequent the flights? They were abandoned…laced with syringes….young/old druggies hung around there.
Well, Big Jay, try to put on a happy face this holiday season !

    • I did frequent the flights and I am not a “druggie”… I am very happy this holiday season. I’m thankful for the dog and bike lane!!

  2. You can’t even walk by snow hill st without getting a strong whiff of poop. That was a place kids used to play!!! They should’ve re done it for sports!!!

  3. You can’t walk on any street in the North End without stepping in or smelling dog poop. The dog park has been closed for months. Even in the summer it never smelled bad. RUFF and the people who use the dog park are very good about cleaning up after the dogs. Cannot say the same for many of the dog owners in the neighborhood.

    • I can see the dog park from my window and I have to agree with Mario. Sometimes when I open my window it smells like a zoo. Not to mention the people who walk their dogs as early as 5-6 am. Between the talking and the barking I can’t even sleep. At least the druggies were quiet!!!

      • Sure, yeah. Let’s have a drug park and we can all shoot up together and leave needles lying around for kids.

Thank goodness the good samaritans at RUFF made this happen.

  4. The park looks wonderful. It is such a nice change from the awful flights where women were afraid and parents told their kids to stay away. I say bring on the dogs!
