Sephora opens at site of Faneuil Hall’s flower market

The former greenhouse-style glass enclosure site at Faneuil Hall’s flower market building has now been converted into a freestanding Sephora store opened that last month. Boston Business Journal has more on the story.

State asks for bids in $2 million North-South rail link study

MassDOT is soliciting bids for a study to determine if a rail tunnel to connect North and South stations is worth continuing technical and financial analysis. The long-discussed project was previously estimated to cost around $8 billion, but with technology upgrades, officials believe that price could be as low as $2 billion. The Boston Globe has more the study and project proposal.

Boston Massacre Anniversary.  The Boston Massacre occurred on March 5, 1770. Three persons were killed immediately and two died later of their wounds. The British officer in charge, Capt. Thomas Preston, was arrested for manslaughter, along with eight of his men; all were later acquitted. The Boston Massacre is remembered as a key event in helping to galvanize the colonial public to the Patriot cause. More information.
