This years program includes arrangements of familiar Christmas carols and Christmas inspired works for choir and orchestra. The program includes German Baroque composer Christoph Graupner’s “Advent cantata”,
Georg Philip Teleman’s Missa brevis, based on German Christmas carols and a cantata “Uns ist ein Kind geboren” for Christmas Day. This cantata was formerly attributed to J. S. Bach, but the author of the piece is Johann Kuhnau, Bach’s predecessor at Leipzig’s St. Thomas church.
A $10 offering is suggested at the door. Advance tickets are not required.
