USS Constitution (Old Ironsides) Makes Her July 4th Turnaround in Boston Harbor [Photos]

The USS Constitution was underway in Boston Harbor for her annual 4th of July turnaround. “Old Ironsides” left her dock at Charlestown Navy Yard and was tugged through the harbor to Castle Island. A 21-gun salute was performed near Fort Independence, a state park that served as a defense post for Boston Harbor at one time. At 215 years old, Constitution is the world’s oldest commissioned warship afloat. After the three hour tour through the harbor, a naturalization ceremony was held on the ship for new U.S. citizens.
