It was the annual ROC Teen Saturday Fourth of July BBQ at the Mirabella Pool. There was a free BBQ, music, water slides for the kids and entertainment – the Classics. Hundreds came out to enjoy the pool on the hot, humid Thursday. Pool goers also had a front row seat for the USS Constitution July 4th Turnaround in Boston Harbor.

It was a cold and wet New Year’s Day 2013 for the hundreds that participated in the annual Polar Bear Plunge into Boston Harbor on the South Boston waterfront, sponsored by the L Street Brownies. These images were captured on black and white film. (Photos by Brendan O’Brien.)
Boston’s two outdoor pools, the BCYF Mirabella Pool in the North End and the BCYF Clougherty Pool in Charlestown are opening for the season on Saturday, June 22.
