Good job students! Your documentary gives a fine synopsis of our North End. You did a lot of research. Selecting which historical events, people and places to feature must have been daunting.
N.B. In the Italian era part of the documentary–which began at the end of the nineteenth century into the twentieth century when the first wave of Italians immigrated–it should be noted that history was made when first generation Boston Latin School honors graduate, Louis Polcari, of Tileston Street, became the first American of Italian heritage from the North End to graduate from the United States Military Academy at West Point (class of 1942). Captain Polcari was on the staff of General Douglas MacArthur–who handpicked his officers.
The filming and photography was good, too! Well done.
