The North End / Waterfront Residents’ Association, NEWRA, held its annual election on Thursday night, introducing four officers to its executive ranks for the upcoming year.
President – Jim Salini
Vice-President – Victor Brogna
Secretary – David Kubiak
Treasurer – Michael Giardiello
Joining in congratulating the incoming and outgoing officers was City Councilor-At-Large, Ayanna Pressley.
Outgoing President Stephanie Hogue reviewed the group’s achievements over the past year, highlighting its successful avocation toward two neighborhood initiatives that recently bore fruit: (1) the opening of the Armenian Heritage Park on Greenway Parcel 13 and (2) the successful property swap between the North Bennet Street School and the City of Boston’s Eliot School, allowing both to expand in the North End.
Separately, NEWRA held a lengthy discussion regarding alcohol licenses in the neighborhood, now that the number has reached its cap of 91 licenses. Read more at this post.
