Old Fashioned Picnic in the Park is a Big Success [Photos]

It was an Old Fashioned Picnic in the Park on Sunday afternoon at Christopher Columbus Park. Friends, families and neighbors gathered with picnic blankets and enjoyed games, lemonade and cookies thanks to the efforts of the Friends of Christopher Columbus Park and their sponsors (Tia’s, Marriott Long Wharf and Greenway Conservancy).

Despite all that was happening on a busy (here and here), but perfect Sunday afternoon, the first-time picnic event was a big success with a large turnout. Event Chairs, Michele Brogan and Jess K. Williams, put together a creative and fun-filled variety of activities. NEMPAC added their own rock painting table which was a big hit. Meanwhile, Jess also entertained dozens of kids with the bubbles and lawn games. A special surprise was the underwater touch and learn exhibit from the New England Aquarium.
