Saturday, April 28th was the annual Boston Shines citywide neighborhood cleanup. In the North End, residents joined together at the Prado with staff from City Hall and the Boston Redevelopment Authority, including BRA Chief Peter Meade. Representatives from City Councilor Sal LaMattina’s office also took part, along with State Rep. Aaron Michlewitz and a large contingent from Suffolk University. The neighborhood groups were also out in force with members from the Residents’ Association (NEWRA) and the Neighborhood Council (NEWNC), NEMPAC and the burgeoning Friends of the Prado. This is the 10th anniversary of the Boston Shines program, held annually every spring throughout Boston. The place is looking especially nice just in time for the April 29th celebration of Cyrus Dallin, his Paul Revere statue and the Prado.
