Boston Public Schools Hosting Community Meetings on New Assignment System

North End / Waterfront and Eliot School parents might want to take part in these community meetings on Saturday, April 28, 2012 with Boston Public Schools regarding changes to the school assignment system. There is also an online survey at: bostonpublicschools.org/choice. Details from BPS below:

BPS is creating a new school assignment system and we want your input!

Come join parents, students, family members and school leaders in a community dialogue on school choice and student assignment. Join the conversation, listen to the voices and opinions of others, learn what is happening in BPS, and share your ideas about how BPS can ensure quality, offer great choices and strengthen the community.

We are working hard to offer every family quality schools, close to home. Join us on Saturday to:

  • Talk about what we have heard in previous meetings
  • Ask what you think about the schools close to your home, and
  • Talk about some ideas for improving our school choice system.

Community meetings: Saturday, April 28

Warren/Prescott K-8 School, 9:00-11:00am
50 School Street, Charlestown (Spanish/Español interpretation available)

Excel High School, 9:00-11:00am
South Boston Education Complex, 95 G Street, 2nd floor, South Boston

Newcomer Assessment and Counseling Center, 11:00am-1:00pm
Madison Park High School – Building #3, 55 Malcolm X Blvd., Roxbury

Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center, 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM
38 Ash Street, Boston

Child care is available at every meeting.
