@Paul Kukade...The police were not "celebrating" St. Patricks day. They were in Southie and Quincy Market and the North Station area where the usual drunken festivities occur. This is the first year when St. Patricks Day in the North End has been so out of control. Your remarks are ignorant AND offensive. The report of the sexual assault HAD NOTHING TO DO with St. Patricks day. The reason it takes so long to "catch this guy" is that the descriptions are so general it could be anyone. It has nothing to do with the lack of police enforcement. If you know nothing about the situation and really do not live around here, why are you making such a**inine comments?

I have just a few quick observations:

1.	Not sure if there ever was a honeymoon to speak off with the new Police District A-1.
2.	The police did not patrol Boston North end, because they were all too busy celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. That just seems to be clear.
3.	The reports on the sexual assaults are disturbing and so is the description the police is providing of the suspect (5′ 6″-5’8″, late 20′s to early 30′s, medium build, short dark hair and a goatee). It simply describes most people I know. While the police is not saying the description seem to match several sexual assaults profiles in the North end over the past several years. What is taking so long to catch the person? Answer St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. Not really, just a lack of police enforcement.

How do I know about all of this? I don’t, I don’t live around here. Where I live the cop’s just shoot don’t ask questions.

I hope they will patrol other areas of the neighborhood as well. Many parks, including puopolo park, the gassy and the eliot school playground need vigilance during those hours, as well. I also expect to see results from these increased patrols in the weekly police blotter. If there is actually an increase in police vigilance I expect many of our night time issues to be resolved quickly.
