State Representative Aaron Michlewitz was appointed Vice-Chairman of the Joint Committee on Transportation by Speaker Robert DeLeo for the 2011-2012 Legislative Session. The transportation industry is a major sector of the Commonwealths economic vitality and transportation policies have significant impact throughout the 3rd Suffolk District.
“I am truly honored to be named Vice-Chairman of the Transportation Committee. With two major highways, numerous commuter hubs, and every MBTA subway line running through the 3rd Suffolk District, transportation is an issue that is near and dear to my heart,” said Representative Michlewitz. “The transportation policies that the Commonwealth makes have a disproportionate effect on my district and with this appointment I fully intend to ensure that that the quality of life of my constituents is taken into account when these policies are formulated.”
Representative Michlewitz was also named to the House Ways & Means Committee, which is responsible for crafting the budget and spending policies for the Commonwealth.
“I am excited to have such vital committee assignments for the upcoming Legislative Session. I am eager to continue my work and thank Speaker DeLeo for these added responsibilities.”
