Adam – thanks for your vigilance regarding the trash problem. I am a member of the Clean Streets group and we desperately need more proactive people to come to the meetings. With all the cell phones and camera phones out there everyone in the neighborhood can help keep the City in touch with the trash problem here by calling the Mayor’s Hotline – 617.635-4500 – and reporting when trash is out on the wrong day or time. Code Enforcement is supposed to follow up on calls and give out tickets BUT they can only do this if they know about it. It doesn’t have to come from the NEWRA group directly – ANYONE can call and report violators. We need to get the word out to everyone – that’s the only way things are going to change. The Clean Streets committee is working on a new sheet with all the info about days, times and rules regarding trash disposal, etc. – hopefully it will be ready by the next meeting on March 16, 7:00pm at Michaelangelo building on Charter Street … I hope we’ll see you there – and anyone else who cares about keeping the North End clean.
